This letter refers to the interview “Fighting floods, inviting funds” (TSI, May 31-June 6), which was an interesting write-up. Even though the government is not going to provide power to every new industry, what about the water crisis in Karnataka. Billion of litres will be divested to these new industries. And on the flip side, the entry of special economic zones will be a major blow to the lands, environment and the common man of Karnataka. Global investors’ meet, however, does not do anything to strengthen the local economic system or the people. It seems that the state is going ahead with this kind of development at the cost of livelihood of common man. I really appreciate TSI for coming up with this interview.
