The 86th foundation course for the trainee civic services officers was inaugurated at the National Academy of Direct Taxes (NADT) here.
Nearly 85 trainee civil services officers, including women, are participating in the course.
Chairman of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Prof D P Agrawal inaugurated the course, while Manjari Kacker, IRS, Member (P&V) Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) presided over the function.
The officer trainees have been recruited for different civil services, including the Indian Forest Service (22), Indian Revenue service (Income Tax) (22), Indian Revenue service (Customs & Central Excise) (17), Indian Railway Traffic Service (12), Indian Railway Accounts Service (4), Indian Railway Personnel Service (4) and one each from Indian Audit & Accounts Service, Indian Defence Accounts Service, Indian Postal Service and Indian Trade Service.
Kacker and Prof Agrawal spoke on the occasion.
This foundation course is a common training module for all the freshly recruited candidates of the All India and Central Civil Services.
The officer trainees will be imparted training in promoting all-round development of personality along with intellectual, moral, social, physical and aesthetic dimensions in the 90-day course.
