1885 Full four years before its later day’s patriarch, Nehru, was born; Indian National Congress was conceived in the drawing room of a British bureaucrat in Bombay. With veteran nationalists such as Dadabhai Nowrojee and Badruddin Tayyabji by his side; Allan Octavian Hume formally announced the formation of Congress in Gowalia Tank Maidan. It was not incidental that since then, Bombay became the hub of both the Rightists and Leftists in India at different points in history. Apart from being the den of entrepreneurs, actvists, mafia hoodlums and harlots.
