The Syrian Arab Army got another boost in its arm this week when they managed to wrest more areas from the rebels and west-backed militia in the embattled Aleppo region. In the last few days, SAA has made several surprise attacks and has managed to outwit the militants some of whom belong to the ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra front affiliated to al-Qaeda. Early this week, SAA managed to secure al-Dweireneh town, located east of the al-Nayrab airport in the city of Aleppo. The next day it also managed to take full control of Qara town in the strategic al-Qalamoun area in Damascus province. Since Qalamoun was another route for the militants from Lebanon, its fall will hamper their supply line severely making Damascus out of their reach permanently. Scores of militants have been left dead.
