GAME OF GENTLEMEN This is with reference to the write-up in cricket World Cup special issue written by Prashanto Banerji The short life and wonderful times of Archie Jackson. The author’s brilliant plea to cricketers not to forget the lessons from Jackson’s life that cricket is just a game played not for a cup or urn, but to find friends and share love in return. One hopes it will be adhered to by all the cricketers playing in the World Cup. They will ensure that the gentleman’s characteristic – once famously associated with the game – is restored. This quality of sportsmanship is equally applicable to cricket fans.
