WithPunjabis, Jats and now Biharis being wooed by political parties, can lakhs of Madrasis (read Tamilians) who have made national capital their home be left behind? With mainstream parties in Delhi-like the ruling Congress (I)and prinicipal opposition BJP eyeing traditional votebank and new political outfit Aam Aadmi Party focussing on the anti-corruption plank, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) led by Tamil cine actor Vijaykanth became the first political party from Tamil Nadu to contest the Delhi Assembly elections. The party led by Tamil actor Vijayakanth, who known as `Captain’ by his followers, will field 11 candidates, including three women, and will raise issues that concern the Tamil population in the Capital. Vijayakanth and his wife Premalatha are also scheduled to campaign in the city after November 25. The DMDK is the second largest party in Tamil Nadu, with 29 seats in the state assembly.
