Rahul Gandhi's charisma failed the litmus test in Uttar Pradesh, instead dark horse Akhilesh Yadav emerged as a shining beacon of development-oriented politics; In Punjab, where Congress pundits had already popped open the bubbly anticipating a clear win, it is the SAD-BJP combine instead which is cheering. Uttarakhand, which was seen as another easy cakewalk for the Congress, seems headed for a hung assembly.

The ruckus over two Karnataka ministers watching a pornographic video on their handheld is understandable. But not because the ministers in question were viewing a sex video per se, instead what is indeed questionable is that they were viewing it in the state assembly when issues of public interest were being discussed.
