AUTO EXPO 2012 kick starts in New Delhi

Much awaited Auto Expo kick started at New Delhi Pragati Maidan on Thursday. The prestigious launch pad for the biggest names in business marked its glittering start amid a host of launches, and a dash of Bollywood glamour. The opening day began with the unveiling of Maruti Suzuki's concept SUV 'XA Alpha'. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan launched DC designs' Avanti Sports car, which certainly was the eye catcher of the gala event. Going aggressive after quitting the venture with Hero, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India launched seven new models and announced a thousand crore rupees investment for capacity expansion in with-in half-a decade. Besides unwrapping luxury and small cars, the premium auto show will focus on fuel efficient and green technology vehicles. The week-long event will see the launch of over 50 new vehicles.
