India-born Meera Chandrasekhar, an alumna of IIT Chennai, professor of physics and astronomy and Curator’s Teaching Professor of Physics at the University of Missouri, has won Baylor University’s 2014 Robert Foster Cherry Award for Great Teaching. The award consists of $250,000, which will come with an additional $25,000 for her department. The award’s formal announcement described her as “An internationally known teacher/scholar…”
