Three Assam MLAs get extortion call from ULFA

ULFA  faction led by Paresh Barua now becomes active in the upper Assam area and it is reflected in the recent activities of the organization.Three MLAs had got phone call or extortion notice from the organization within last two months.

The Congress MLA of Sadiya constituency, Bolin Chetia has revealed  that he had received phone calls from the organization more than twenty times. The person who introduced himself as a member of organization demands money for the organization.

On the other hand the MLA of  Nazira constituency Devabrata Saikia also received extortion notices from the organization .It is important to mention here that Debabrata was the son of the former Chief minister Hiteswar Saikaia and his uncle was shot dead by the organization when his father was the chief minister of the state.

Interestingly, the water resource minister of the state Rajiv Lochan Pegu had confessed at a public meeting that he had given money to the ULFA but later he retracted form his comment and claimed that some people from his constituency paid the money to the underground organisation.
