Yesterday, Samsung launched a much awaited mobile phone – Samsung Galaxy SIII. S3 is a successor of Samsung's earlier model Galaxy S and Galaxy S2. Back in the days when Galaxy S was launched, it was looked as competitor to Apple's iPhone and now two years down the line, lets see what Samsung has in store for us.
The Journey from Galaxy S to SIII
Way back in the month of March of Year 2010, Samsung launched Galaxy S (GT-I9000) and the phone was an instant hit. It was one of the most powerful phone of it's time and got competition from iPhone and couple of HTC handsets. Galaxy S was powered by 1GHz dual core Processor that run on Android Froyo, 4 inch Amold Touch Screen, 5 Megapixel camera and connectivity options such as 3G,WiFi and Bluetooth. The Phone was loved by network providers across USA and Europe and they came up with various bundled versions of Galaxy S. By the time it was December 2010, the phone recorded 20 million sales of handset and Samsung realized they can't just let Galaxy S die.
Samsung Galaxy SII
February 13th, 2011, was one of the best day in the history of Samsung mobile's history when the company launched Galaxy S2. The screen got bigger this time from 4 inch to 4.3 inch, the processor got faster from 1GHz to 1.2GHz, the camera got better from 5 megapixel in Galaxy S to 8 megapixel in Galaxy SII.
The phone supported latest Android version of it's time – Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Some of the variants of SII also supported 4G connectivity. Galaxy SII recorded sale of 10 million handsets with in five months and it topped all mobile comparing charts and top lists. But it didn't stopped there and Galaxy SII won the best smartphone award at Mobile World Congress 2012 at Barcelona, Spain and its maker Samsung won Device Manufacturer of the Year award.

May 3, 2012, Samsung officially announced availability of Samsung Galaxy SIII. Once again Samsung Galaxy S came as bigger and better. This time the phone sports a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED 720p screen, 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor, 8 megapixel camera with flash and continuous burst shoot, supported latest version of Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC . NFC or Near Field Communication allows smartphones and similar devices to establish radio communication with each other by touching them together or bringing them into close proximity, usually no more than a few centimeters. The prices are yet to be announced but we can expect it to be around Rs. 35,000.
