Rand Paul Wins Straw Poll

US Republican Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky, son of former Republican aspirant Ron Paul, has managed to win a presidential straw poll at a Republican convention, signalling his apparent popularity among conservative voters and leaders who would like him to contest the next presidential polls on Republican ticket. Rand Paul managed to win over 31 percent in the annual straw poll taken at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland late last week. His rival, and a known bigot, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, managed to poll merely 11 percent of the popular votes.
