President Obama has hinted that he will use his extraordinary power to veto a bill that calls for further sanctions on Iran. He further emphasized that any such sanctions would jeopardize the Geneva Deal. “Imposing additional sanctions now will only risk derailing our efforts to resolve this issue peacefully, and I’ll veto any legislation enacting new sanctions during the negotiation,” the text read. “With today’s agreement, we have made concrete progress. I welcome this important step forward, and we will now focus on the critical work of pursuing a comprehensive resolution,” it further added.
