One pothead family drama

Pot, strippers and phallic references so repeated that you’d think they were talking to and about a character in the film, all roll together nicely in this comedy. To be honest, it isn’t very different from other comedies but there is a strange chemistry between the family members played by Jennifer Aniston as Sarah "Rose" O'Reilly, a stripper and neighbor hired by David (Jason Sudeikis) to pose as his wife and their make believe son and daughter played by Will Poulter and Emma Roberts respectively.

The plot is incredibly dumb (in a good way) and simple. A low level marijuana dealer wants to go to Mexico to smuggle in enormous quantities of pot and for that he needs the cover of a family, as you do… For his clever ploy he fakes an entire family. So good so far. Even though the jokes are kinda cliched, they are delivered well enough and at the right time to be extremely funny.

This film might also turn out to be grossly offensive to some. It is really one of those films which you secretly like a lot but act shocked in front of your own family. Jennifer Aniston plays her role as a stripper turned mother back to stripper back to mother perfectly. The film ends with a really sweet ending amidst a forest of marijuana.

So if you are into that sort of thing (I don’t mean pot, I mean crass comedies) this is one of the most hilarious films you shall see for a while.
