Noted playback singer and versatile actor, Kishore Kumar's 82nd birth anniversary was celebrated on Thursday by large number of his fans by organising various programmes.
Despite incessant rains, his fans not only cut a cake to celebrate his birthday, but also remembered him by listening to their favourite songs sung by the legendary singer, who was born in Khandwa and loved to describe himself as "Kishore Kumar Khandwa-wale."
His fans at Khandwa have set up an ultra-modern home-theatre system at his 'Samadhi' on which they can listen to their favourite number by just putting a coin. It also has the facility to watch any video of his film or a song in the 60-seater auditorium.
His childhood friend from the neighbouring Khargone district, Ramesh Chandra Gaur, has demanded that the Centre award him Bharat Ratna in view of his contribution to the Indian cinema, specially in the field of singing.
