So how will they combat the challenges of terrorism? Kudos to Anna Hazare who is the Robin Hood of India's crusade against corruption. I wish I am with him in this fight against the corrupt babus.

We will progress. We will have a good and effective judiciary, well trained and independently operating police force, etc. Else, AFSPA or TADA or POTA or SATA or PATA....." won't help at all.

Posted By: Prashant Nahata | Mumbai | August 2nd 2011 | 00:08 The real reason is the BJP. Yes indeed it is a party with a difference. It keeps twisting the Hindutva ideology and turning it to suit its purpose and goals. It is the root cause of home grown Islamic fundamentalist terror. Where was this Islamic terror before the 2002 Gujarat riots or the 1993 Shiv Sena sponsored riots and pogrom against the Muslims in Mumbai and Maharashtra and also before the singular most cataclysmic event in the history of Modern India- The demolition of the Babri Masjid. That the BJP has benefitted from the above three events is a foregone conclusion. Prior to that we had communal riots in this country which was the handiwork of rabble rousers and fundamentalist elements on both sides of the Hindu, Muslim divide. When the BJP toed the moderate middle of the road approach to politics they were reduced to 4 seats in the Lok Sabha and then began their RSS sponsored and RSS backed attempt at gaining power, whatever the costs whether in terms of human life or the very social fabric of amity and unity of the country and its ethos. Thus began the tragic rath yatra of the Loh Purush Advani to Ayodhya which left in its wake many hundreds dead due to the communal riots caused because of the passions it excited and the hatred it propogated as it made its way towards Ayodhya ending in the culmination of the yatra and the sad demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6 1992. Sad because it was totally un-necessary.

Any injustice adds insult to injury.
It is important to make India a just and tolerant society to rout out the scourge of injustice, which is any way guaranteed by the Indian Constitution.

Posted By: Kishore | Mumbai | August 2nd 2011 | 14:08 In order to root out the scourge of injustice we cannot afford to be tolerant. Since there is no backlash, there is no fear. Qasab is a classic example of why India is unable to curb terrorism.
