The Election Commission, after banning BJP leader Amit Shah and Samajwadi Party’s Azam Khan from campaigning in Uttar Pradesh, has censored the two leaders for making hate speeches during the campaigning. Terming the speeches as ‘misconduct’, the commission said that it has seen the videos again and it was convinced that the leaders had made “highly provocative speeches which have the impact of aggravating existing differences or create mutual hatred between different communities”.
