Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is in delivery mode. Be it the water issue or subsidizing power tariffs, he has been quick to deliver on his party’s manifesto. The latest out of his bag is launching a helpline service to nab corrupt government officials seeking bribes in the capital. Now Delhities can call on 011-27357169 between 8am to 10pm. The helpline would instruct the caller on how to hold a sting to create the ‘first evidence’ (either audio or video), on the basis of which anti-corruption team will take action within 24 hours to catch the bribeseeker. Soon a four-digit number will be created to make it easier to remember. Kejriwal said that it’s not a ‘complaint number’ but an advisory number. He further said: “I appeal to the people of Delhi that we need to eradicate corruption together…it shall curb the problem by up to 90%. People would fear asking for bribes.”
