In a boost to the faltering economy, Brazil has awarded USD 9 billion worth of infrastructure deals, especially related to civil aviations, to foreign and local construction giants in preparation for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games scheduled to take place in the Latin American nation. This is one of the biggest contracts of its kind in the near past.
