BKI militants reveal crucial info to Delhi police

With the arrest of two Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) militants, the crime branch of the Delhi police is trying to unfold the ISI’s new strategy to revive Sikh militancy in Punjab.

Meanwhile, the Delhi police have alerted Punjab and Haryana police to beef up the security of the religious leaders, who are likely to be targeted by the BKI.

During the interrogation, the arrested militants have revealed that they were asked to target prominent religious sect guru’s including Baba Ram Rahim of Ambala, Baba Pyara Singh of Ropar and Baba Ashutosh of Ludhiana, Punjab.

According to the sources in crime branch, these religious sect leaders enjoy mass following and any attempt on their lives would lead to grave situation triggering communal violence.

In the past even, ISI of Pakistan has always taken advantage of such a situation like communal disturbances, where instigating Sikh youths in the name of religion becomes very easy and subsequently recruiting them for carrying out nefarious activities, sources said.

On Thursday, the crime branch of the Delhi Police arrested BKI operative Sarbpreet Singh from Shalimar Bagh area in Delhi. Subsequently his accomplice, Jaswinder Singh was arrested from Ropar in Punjab.

While police had recovered One .30 Star make pistol  from Sarbpreet, the arrest of Jaswinder led to recovery of two more pistols. In all 45 rounds of ammunition was recovered from them.

A city court had granted 10 days police remand of the arrested militants and police is hopeful of bursting this BKI module.
