AGNI III test fired in Odisha

The nuclear capable Agni-III, a ballistic missile with a strike range of more than 3,000 km was test fired by the Army from Wheeler Island off Odisha coast. The 17 metre missile is powered by a two-stage solid propellant system, and can carry a warhead of 1.5 tonne. It is equipped with hybrid navigation, guidance and control systems and has an advanced on-board computer. The missile is capable of engaging targets deep inside neighbouring countries. It is the most sophisticated and accurate ballistic missile of its range class in the world.
