TSI Oriya celebrates first anniversary

 

The Oriya edition of The Sunday Indian, the only news weekly on earth that gets published in 14 languages, has celebrated its first anniversary on June 29, 2008. In a function organized at Redcross Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, TSI Oriya also launched its special issue covering Orissa's most influential people. While Lokapal and former justice of Orissa high court Sarat Chandra Mahapatra was the honorary Chief Guest, Mr. Biswaranjan - who is one of the most popular literary man of the state – was the Chief Speaker for the evening. Expressing views Justice Sarat Chandra Mahapatra said, "His request to media to provide him information based on facts and figures was first met by "The Sunday Indian". This weekly has fascinated most of the Oriya readers because it covers news from across the globe in a brief and interesting manner." Chief Speaker Mr. Biswa Ranjan eulogizing the magazine said that such magazines can actually make the audience turn towards magazines once again. Other popular personalities of the state like former Indian hockey captain Dillip Tirki, sand architect Sudarshan Patanaik, famous film Director Sanjay Naik, film star Archita, Akash, Sabyasachi, Director Chakrdhar sahu, Oriya writer Debaprasad Dash, Sunil Prusty, Asit Mohanty, former international basket ball player Arupananda Samantray, Deputy Director Ashok Mohanty, PCC Vice Chairman Shivananda Ray, Senior Journalist Gopal Mohapatra, Malay Naik, Sandip Sahu, Dillip Mishra, Sambit Mohapatra, Dillip Halli along with also present on the occasion.
